Introduction

These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the services provided by South London Islamic Foundation (“the Charity,” “we,” “us,” “our”). By engaging with the Charity’s services, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you should not use our services.

Privacy and Data Protection

We respect your privacy and are committed to safeguarding any personal information you provide to us.
Personal information collected through donations, services, or other interactions will be stored securely and used only for the purposes of providing our services and fulfilling our charitable mission. We will not share or sell your personal information to third parties unless required by law or with your explicit consent.

About the Charity

South London Islamic Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing burial services, cemetery maintenance, and related charitable activities to support the community, families, and individuals in need.

Purpose

This Muslim graveyard is established as a charitable service solely for the sake of Allah (SWT). Its purpose is to provide a dignified and Sharia-compliant burial for deceased Muslims.
Inn Shah Allah If we can fully establish a cemetery then its members & their family members will get 50% of the total grave for themselves & the other 50% will remain for poor & needy people.
Every member will be counted as a permanent member for life time. There will be a small membership fee £5 monthly by cash, standing order, direct debit or bank transfer but if any members of South London Islamic Foundation will be failed to pay membership fee three month or more, they could lose their membership right. Membership fee (£5 monthly) will be accepted as a non refundable donation or Sadka E Jaria.

Right to claim a burial space

Nobody can claim any burial space for paid donations or membership fee. This donations & membership fee will be counted as general non refundable donation to establish & run the graveyard & charity. If we can fully establish a graveyard then its members & their family members can claim a free burial space for themselves. Obviously they have to full fill all the terms & conditions before they claim a burial space.

Services Provided

The Charity provides:
Burial plots and grave services
Memorial services and upkeep
Financial assistance for burial costs for those who qualify
Voluntary contributions and charitable fundraising events
Other community support services as deemed appropriate by the Charity’s mission
Specific terms and services may vary and will be detailed in the corresponding service agreements.

Eligibility

The graveyard is exclusively for Muslims in accordance with Islamic teachings.
Priority may be given to individuals in financial need or those with no family to support burial arrangements.
Services may be provided based on eligibility criteria set by the Charity, including but not limited to financial need, community residency, and other charitable considerations.
The Charity reserves the right to refuse services if eligibility criteria are not met.

Usage Policy

The graveyard is a waqf (endowment) and cannot be sold, transferred, or used for any purpose other than its intended function.
Families of the deceased must respect the guidelines of Islamic burial rites.
Graves must not be adorned excessively. Simple markers may be used in line with Islamic principles.

Grave Allocation

Graves are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis unless otherwise determined by the managing committee based on need.
Reservations or pre-purchases of graves are not permitted to ensure fairness and access for all.

Management and Maintenance

A committee will oversee the management of the graveyard, ensuring Sharia compliance and proper maintenance.
Donations are welcomed to cover maintenance costs, but burial services remain charitable and free of charge.
Families are encouraged to assist with grave maintenance as an act of sadaqah (charity).
The Charity is responsible for the general upkeep of cemetery grounds and facilities, including regular maintenance and landscaping.
The Charity is not responsible for damage to memorials, markers, or personal items left on graves, except in cases where damage is caused by the Charity’s negligence.

Liability

The Charity will take all reasonable steps to ensure the safety and maintenance of its facilities. However, it is not liable for any loss, damage, injury, or death occurring on its grounds, except where required by law.
The Charity will not be responsible for the theft, vandalism, or natural wear of memorials, monuments, or personal items.

Fees and Donations.

The Charity may charge fees for certain services (e.g., burial plots, memorial markers, maintenance). These fees are intended to cover administrative and operational costs.
The Charity is a non-profit organization, and all fees charged are intended to support the Charity’s mission and ongoing operations.
Donations to the Charity are voluntary and tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.

Payment and Refunds

Payment for services should be made in accordance with the Charity’s payment guidelines.
If a refund is applicable, it will be determined at the sole discretion of the Charity, based on the nature of the service and circumstances involved.
In the case of a charitable donation, refunds are generally not issued, except in cases of administrative error.Every member will be counted as a permanent member for life time. Use of Burial Plots and Memorials

Burial plots and memorial markers are subject to availability and may be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis.
Use of cemetery plots and memorials is subject to cemetery regulations, including size and placement restrictions.
The Charity may, at its discretion, remove or relocate memorials and graves in accordance with cemetery maintenance or legal requirements.

Prohibited Activities

The following are strictly prohibited within the graveyard premises:
• Building permanent structures over graves.
• Commercial activities or any form of trade.
• Planting or placing items that conflict with Islamic principles.
• Glass containers
• Large or unapproved monuments
• Fireworks or open flames
• Loudspeakers or amplified music
• Pets (unless permitted by local law)
• Any violations will be addressed by the managing committee.

Dispute Resolution

In case of a dispute regarding burial arrangements, donations, or Cemetery policies, the parties will first attempt to resolve the matter amicably through dialogue. If a resolution cannot be reached, disputes will be handled through mediation or arbitration, as determined by the South London Islamic Foundation with Islamic teachings…

Modifications to Terms & Conditions

The managing committee reserves the right to update these terms and conditions to ensure the graveyard continues to operate effectively and in alignment with Islamic values.

Also the Charity reserves the right to modify or update these Terms at any time. Any changes will be communicated to you via the contact information provided or posted on the Charity’s website. Continued use of the Charity’s services after changes have been made constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

Note: This graveyard is a sadaqah jariyah (continuous charity) for those who contribute and adhere to these principles. May Allah accept this effort and grant it barakah.
